Welcome to FIRE & LIGHT’S 2023-24 Season

The youth of Fire & Light Academy perform full-scale classic productions for our Fort Wayne community. We are elated to be on stage at the Arts United Center this season. Join us for every show this exciting 2023-24 Season. We’re bringing audiences the classics, like the beloved Sound of Music, and telling some new tales, like Finding Nemo Jr., as well.

We promise you won’t want to miss a single moment.


 
 

April 11-13, Arts United Center

303 E. Main Street, Fort Wayne

This touching extravaganza is a musical adaptation of the 2003 Pixar movie Finding Nemo. Marlin, an over-protective clownfish, lives in the Great Barrier Reef with young Nemo. But when Nemo is captured and taken to Sydney, Marlin faces his fears and sets off on an epic adventure across the ocean. With the help of lovable characters such as optimistic Dory and laid-back sea turtle Crush, Marlin and Nemo both overcome challenges on their journey to find each other and themselves. Disney’s Finding Nemo is presented by special arrangement with Music Theatre International. This show is rated G.

 

May 16-18

University of Saint Francis Robert Goldstine Performing Arts Center, 431 W. Berry Street

Set in the little village of Anatevka, the story centers on Tevye, a poor milkman, and his five daughters. With the help of a colorful and tight-knit Jewish community, Tevye tries to protect his daughters and instill them with traditional values in the face of changing social mores and the growing anti-Semitism of Czarist Russia. Rich in historical and ethnic detail, Fiddler on the Roof's universal theme of tradition cuts across barriers of race, class, nationality and religion, leaving audiences crying tears of laughter, joy and sadness. Fiddler on the Roof is presented by special arrangement with Music Theatre International. This show is rated G.

 

November 9-11, 16-18

PPG Arts Lab, 300 E. Main Street, Fort Wayne

Ten strangers are summoned to a remote island. All that the guests have in common is a wicked past they're unwilling to reveal and a secret that will seal their fate. For each has been marked for murder. As the weather turns and the group is cut off from the mainland, the one by one they are murdered in accordance with the lines of a sinister nursery rhyme. Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals. This show is rated PG for content.


December 14-16, Arts United Center

303 E. Main Street, Fort Wayne

Buddy, a young orphan, mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. The would-be elf is raised, unaware that he is actually a human, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa's permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Faced with the harsh reality that his father is on the naughty list and that his half-brother doesn't even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas. Elf Jr. is based on the New Line Cinema film and presented by special arrangement with Music Theatre International. This show is rated G.


January 18-20, Arts United Center

303 E. Main Street Fort Wayne

The final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein was destined to become the world’s most beloved musical. Featuring a trove of cherished songs, including “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” “My Favorite Things,” “Do-Re-Mi,” “Sixteen Going on Seventeen” and the title number, The Sound of Music won the hearts of audiences worldwide, earning five Tony Awards and five Oscars. The inspirational story, based on the memoir of Maria Augusta Trapp, follows an ebullient postulate who serves as governess to the seven children of the imperious Captain von Trapp, bringing music and joy to the household. But as the forces of Nazism take hold of Austria, Maria and the entire von Trapp family must make a moral decision. The Sound of Music is presented by special arrangement with Concord Theatricals. This show is rated G.
