Allison Mooibroek

Allison has a bachelor's degree in Music Education and taught music in the public schools prior to staying home full-time to raise and homeschool her daughters.  As someone who's always been drawn to the arts, she loved performing in musicals and plays in high school, as well as playing in many pit orchestras and ensembles both large and small through the years on french horn.  Watching students gain skills and confidence as they enjoy the beautiful gift of the performing arts is one of her very favorite things, so she feels so blessed to join Patrice in Fire & Light Foundations this semester.

The Language of Music

Does your child love singing but they struggle to read music?  Come join our Language of Music basic theory class for a great introduction!  We will be learning about the various staffs, note values, bar measures, time signatures and so much more in this 10 week class.  This class is appropriate for beginning musicians ages 8-12.

Jessica has a background in music education from Heidelberg College, having trained as an instrumentalist for many years.  Jessica can play a variety of music instruments but her heart belongs to the saxophone and she has performed in a variety of honor bands and ensembles. She left the arts for a career in the medical field but after having children felt a strong pull to rejoin the community of music---some fires were never meant to be put out!
